Enhancement to Data Access Implementation for
Sponsored Projects Data Warehouse

Effective March 10, 2008 the data access rules for the Sponsored Projects Data Warehouse, accessible via the Sponsored Portal or Brio, have been expanded to better meet the needs of staff across the university. Previously, access to proposal information and some award detail information was limited by the administering department of the project. Now, access will be allowed by:

1) the administering department of the project;
2) the home department of the Principal Investigator; or
3) the home department of any co-Investigator.

As an example, if your access is limited to the Chemical and Chemical Biology department you will now have access to proposal and award information for projects administered by that department and projects where the PI and co-PI resides in that department. College level access will flow similarly based on the university organization hierarchy.

Note that this change applies to sponsored project information only. Sponsored account information is controlled by the access rules defined within the Accounting Data Warehouse. This change will have no impact on access of individual researchers who will continue to have full access to their sponsored project and accounting information at: http://my.research.cornell.edu/.
