Upcoming NIH R01 Proposal Deadline using Grants.gov

On February 5th when proposals to the National Institutes of Health's R01 program are due we face the the largest Grants.Gov deadline to date. We expect that there will be dozens of proposals from Cornell, and thousands of proposals from around the nation, to be submitted. We expect that the proposal volume will tax both Cornell's, and Grants.Gov's human and technical infrastructure.

In order to ensure that proposals are reviewed and submitted in accordance with the deadline we are urging researchers and departments to comply with Cornell's long standing deadline of having completed proposals and the approved routing forms (Form 10) in SPS five business days prior to sponsor due date. This is January 29, at 5 p.m. for this round of R01 proposals. Please check with your college or department if they require additional time for their review.

While our office will work hard to submit every proposal we receive, there is a very real possibility that late proposals will not make it into Grants.gov in time to meet the deadline for consideration. We also remind submitters that Cornell's e-mail system does not permit large attachments during business hours, so please use our web-based drop box (http://www.osp.cornell.edu/eRA/DropBox.html) to deliver your PureEdge-based Grants.Gov packages to us.

For further assistance please contact your Grant and Contract Officer or go to http://www.osp.cornell.edu/grants.gov/.
