SPONSORED PROGRAMS PRIMER:
AN INTRODUCTION TO
SPONSORED PROGRAMS ADMINISTRATION

The SPS Primer is a five-part series designed to offer departmental administrators and other members of the Cornell community an overview of the sponsored projects process within the University. The first session provides an introduction to the SPS Web site and the proposal preparation tools available. We will also explore several topics closely related to proposal development. Subsequent sessions include: using Form 10; introducing the various offices involved with research administration at the University; explaining budget development; focusing on financial management; exploring post-award management issues; as well as explaining the roles of SPS (formerly OSP and SFA), Cost Accounting, the Office of Research Integrity and Assurance, the Office of Risk Management, University Audit, and the Cornell Center for Technology, Enterprise and Commercialization (CCTEC) throughout the sponsored project process.

The series will be offered on the following five Wednesdays, from 9:00am to Noon: March 28, April 4, 11, 18, and 25. All sessions will take place in Room 525 ILR Conference Center. Registration is required and is limited to 30 people. Registration preference is given to those who make a commitment to attending all five sessions. Register on-line at http://www.research.cornell.edu/Registrations/Workshops/Primer/registration.cfm.
