OSP |
This two hour session will cover why these two types of contracts
can be tricky to handle and why they are taken so seriously by OSP. Robin Cyr,
Sr. Grant & Contract Officer, will start the session off with an overview
of the problematic clauses typically found in these contracts and the University's
position regarding these issues. Guest speakers have been invited to get into
the specifics. Jim Severson from the Cornell Research Foundation will talk about
how some of the more standard clauses can impact your ability to use your results
and possibly even loose your rights. Allen Bova of Risk Management will talk about
the implications found in the indemnification clauses. Mike Kimberly of University
Counsel will discuss what happens in the event that you violate the terms and
breach your contract. These are legal contracts with serious repercussions if
not handled with care. Come and learn the ins and outs of these two types of contracts
and how you can work with OSP to limit the risks associated with them.
